My vote goes for Vick. What has he actually done? Sure, he can run. But he has not really accomplished all that much for as much hype as he gathers from some fans and media.
Who is the most over rated active QB in the NFL?nba salaries
You are 100% correct Mike Vick has a big name thats it, he should learn how to throw or just give up and become a wide reciever. After him there are a few more overrated QB's:
Eli Manning- 1st round bust cant make the big throws in the big games
Tony Romo- plays great for a few games and than flops when it counts
J.P. Losman- ENOUGH SAID
Who is the most over rated active QB in the NFL?nba playoff ,nba teams
Rex Grossman.
Everyone says he is a bum who should be riding the bench.
I say you are all giving him too much credit.
Let's get a restraining order making it illegal for this guy to come within 500 yards of Soldier Field.
He had to have bet money against the Bears in some of those games last year. Nobody could play that bad unless they were trying to screw up.
I agree. Micheal for sure.
How could anyone mention JP as overrated. They don't even mention him when they talk about his QB class and he's at least better than Worthlesberger and Eli. Rivers is debatable.
My vote goes to Vince Young. He's Mike Vick 2.0, and will be only that unless he learns to play QB. Honorary mention goes to Tony Romo for being elected to the Pro Bowl for playing three good games....
Vick hasn't been to the Super Bowl...He has been to the NFC Championship once...He's fun to watch, but can't win a Super Bowl on his own...
does anybody even rate Vick highly anymore?
I'll go with Roethlisberger
He won the Super Bowl because his offense was well coached.
Last year is how he rolls without spectacular play around him and average coaching.
2nd place....Eli Manning
I agree with you. It's gotta be Vick, all this hype and he's just not a great QB. Great athlete, but not QB. If he was paid an average salary and nobody made such a big deal about him, he'd be good to have. But he's a salary drain and a prima donna.
Way too much hype on Tony Romo just b/c he played good his first couple games but when it came down to a playoff game he blew it
Michael Vick would be close 2nd
Brady QUINN
Michael Vick
Eli Manning
Chad Pennington
the number one overrate QB is Eli stay off Vick he is a QB that every coach wants but can't coach. he can throw with time and open wrs. that's why his tight end gets all the pass he the only one open. he line is weak also. let it go. Eli got it all still can't win
Michael Vick by far. he has tons of talent and has done nothing. it's almost sad to think about what he could've become and now with all his off the field problems, it's like a train wreck. for his own sake i hope he proves me wrong this year.
Bret Farrve has my vote. I cnt watch a game if he plays. He just annoys me to no end. Either that or Peyton Manning. Its a toss up.
thats right its vick
I don't think its Vick--not that he's accomplished that much, more that the press didn't hype him as much last year. My vote is for Eli Manning. First, deciding that he was too good to be a Charger and getting a starting job got him in the spotlight and his older brother made him a media darling. The jury is still out--Eli could turn out to be a good quarterback, but at this point in his career he gets as much press as Peyton without even being in the top half of quarterbacks.
Vick--I think they need to get a football genius to re-write the playbooks around him. When I watch, it seems they just can't think outside the box and figure out what kind of plays would use his skills best. He doesn't have the skills to run normal quarterback plays, so you see his best stuff on a busted play. Even his planned runs look like any QB draw. What I'm saying is they need to quit trying to make him a traditional quarterback, and figure out better rollouts and runs to use him effectively. Someone needs to come up with a new way to play the position for Vick, and he could be great.
Peyton Manning. If he didn't have Dungy, Harrison, and Wayne, he would be bagging groceries and taking turns on the low side of the gloryhole for nickels.
Well no offense, but this was a waste of a question, because the clear answer thus far has been Mike Vick, without contest. He hasn't ever thrown for 3,000 yards....how can anyone be considered a legitimate 1st overall QB with those crappy passing numbers?
peyton manning and 2 years ago ben rolisburger (dont know if i spelled it right). when you really think about it peyton manning isn't that good all he does is throw a bunch of short passes i hardly ever see hime throw a pass past 25 yard why because he knows it will be off target
Vick. I don't care if he is "exciting" as a QB he isn't doing much because he doesn't have to. When he had to play QB, like against the Steelers last year, he did a fine job of it. Maybe he would be really good at QB if he had to be, if they would make him focus on pass first.
Next is Farve. He is living on his past. He isn't that great anymore so please stop this oh he has MVP awards and Ring. From what 5-10 years ago?
1) Mr. Favre 2) Mr. Vick 3) Mr. Culpepper 4) Mr. E. Manning 5) Mr. Romo These are my top Five for the top Ten just watch the Games this season they will show you the top Ten
Jake Delhomme
Mike Vick
i dont think it's Vick, although he is not very good, I think most people who know football realize that. Since the retirement of Drew Bledsoe, the overrated award has to go to Marc Bulger, even coming off his best seadon last year the Rams were still horrible. Honorable mention to Donovan Mcnabb.
At this point, Bret Favre is way overrated. Big Ben's ready to take the torch as soon as Bret hangs 'em up.
I agree totally. He isn't a very good QB, but he does create some excitement when running the ball. He never will be a winner, except in dog fighting maybe.
I would have to say
Philip Rivers it is jyust the team he has that makes him look good. He makes to gutsy of throws and does not do good under pressure. If nyou put him on any other team he would not last long.
Tony Romo. They were hyping this guy up before he even touched an NFL field in a meaningful game. And exactly what the hell has he done? Why was he a Pro Bowl QB? Dallas isn't buying the hype since they considered drafting Brady Queer. Roethlisberger was overrated, but last season, he was exposed for what he really was. Matt Schaub is overrated. You mentioned Michael Vick, well Schaub's career numbers (although in limited action) are WORSE than Vicks. His completion percentage is nearly the same, but his QB Rating is nearly 10 points less than Vicks. Schaub is expected to save a franchise with a line that can't save him from being put on his back more than a Houston harlot.
Is Dante Culpepper considered "active"?
Jake Delhome
Mike Vick
Roesthlisberger. The guy is average at best. They won a superbowl with him completing like 12 passes a game on average. He's a nobody...
Vick, perhaps - but he has taken his team to a SuperBowl.
How about Tony Romo - "the next Tom Brady"?
Pennington and Manning (Eli) are good choices too.
Tom Brady? He hasn't won a SuperBowl in three years...
Daunte Culpepper - without Moss, he's been nothing!
