If you don't know who Leaonard Little is, my point is being made. Google him and ask yourself who comitted the worse crime...
(BTW, I am not defending Vick, but rather pointing out the hypocricy of the good ol US public)
What do you think of Leonard Little playing in the NFL and Michael Vick being blackballed?nba mock drafts
its awesome
What do you think of Leonard Little playing in the NFL and Michael Vick being blackballed?nba street ,nba teams
Better question is to ask is if Little did now what he did then, what would happen? The image of the pro athlete is under scrutiny, with good reason, much more now than ever before. I for one am very pleased that most of pro sports is FORCING these guys to act as stand up citizens. The powers that be understand that the people that pay to go to the games on a regular basis are getting fed up with watching steroid using ex-cons play a game for a living. I for one will never take my son to another NFL game after being around the drunken lunatics in the stands...that's another matter I guess.
If Little committed his crime last week, you better believe he would be gone this week. The greater crime is Little's, yes.
One more big piece of irony...Little's current team "blacklisted" Eric Wright (Cleveland Browns 2nd rd draft choice this year) because he had a silly misdemeanor charge as a freshman in college. It seems that when it comes to moral compasses in pro sports and the media, everyone is standing directly on the North Pole.
what is happening to Micheal Vick is nothing short of extreme..yes what he did was wrong but come on taking money from him and all this scrutiny is ridiculous..these same people who are calling for Vick to be hung are the same idiots who have excuses to why pit bulls kill or attack people everyday with no warning...and by the way he pleaded guilty to funding the fights not being part of the executions that is what he co-defendants are saying to get themselves lighter sentencing. Look at Paris Hilton and Lindsey lohan..they have committed crimes and it was pretty much kicked under the rug..though Paris offense was nowhere near as severe she took the law head on and won she did not get anywhere near as much jail time as she should have...and she showed no shame, when a person outright puts them self ahead of the law there should have been more of an outrage., for the simple fact that there are innocent people behind bars who dont get the same treatment...Vick situation has alot to do with race. Yes he committed a crime, let the justice system take care of ..
There's not a lot of justice in the world. One could say that Vick was acting maliciously while Little was not. It takes malice and a stone where one's heart ought to be to raise dogs to fight and main each other and to take part in "executing" underperforming dogs. It takes hubris and stupidity to get behind the wheel of a car with a BAC of 0.19.
I hope that the new NFL commissioner starts cracking down on players who have felony charges pending against them and have been convicted of felonies. And this includes men who have gotten away with abusing their wives and girlfriends for far too long.
If it takes publicity for a guy who financed a dogfighting ring to shed light on the ugly behavior of too many professional athletes, so be it.
The death that Little caused was not intentional. And yes he could have been punished a bit more. The deaths that Vick caused and did were. Yes, I know it was not human life that suffered from his hands. But it was a life, and he not only took those lives, he made them suffer. I am sure God will punish him for what he has done. As far as I am concerned he can be replaced with Barney and it would be an improvement.
It was the public that decided about Vick. When the story broke the public was where the real problem for Vick came from.
So you see it does seem that a dog has more value to the public. You are not the majority it seems.
I don not care one way or the other.
Vick sucks! Put him in a room full of his fighting dogs with meat around his neck. They need to make a football out of him!
Leonard Little was lucky that his offense happened when it did. Of course taking a human life is worse than that of a dog's, but all sports are under such scrutiny nowadays that Michael had poor timing.
On the other hand, Leonard did chose to drink and drive, but I highly doubt he did it with the intention of killing someone whereas, Michael and his posse purposely bought these dogs to fight each other and purposely killed them.
Both are wrong. Is Leonard lucky that he still gets to make more money than any of us will ever dream of? Damn right he is. Lance Briggs is sweatin to see if he'll be punished for a single vehicle accident where nobody was hurt and it can't be proven if he was drinking or not.
These atheletes are finally being held to a higher standard, which I feel is a good thing, but could be a whole other argument.
If Leonard committed the same act today, he would be getting the same reaction that Vick is getting and facing the fact that he would never be playing in the National Felon League again.
I have no idea how Leonard Little is even out of prison, much less playing football. Think about this: he KILLED a human being and spent 90 DAYS in jail. Then a few years later he fails THREE field sobriety tests, and the jury finds him not guilty because the officer supposedly didn't follow procedure. Bottom line: this country is crazy and the St. Louis justice system is basically a kangaroo court.
Yeah, Little has quite the drunken and murderous track record:

I think he should have been punished more harshly. We do not know of the full punishment that Vick will receive. God says to take care of the domestic animals; Vick slaughtered helpless animals while training them to rip each other to shreds.
He is my brother, but am I his sister? Brotha man, wow, you didn't even need the cash---this was a case of evil on the part of Vick. Sheer evil. I hope he gets it together because he just loved doing it and only made about $3,000 to $4,000 on each dog fight? What's up with that.
Little should have gone to prison for murder.
